As I look at the smiles on the faces of my wife, Michelle, and my children, Michael and Mykala, I cannot help but be completely filled with gratitude by the awesomeness of God’s mercy and grace. I faced an uncertain future twenty-one years ago, that very easily would not have included them in my life today. Reflecting on that, I am truly humbled and overwhelmed at how blessed I am to have them. They have loved and supported me unconditionally when I felt lost and unlovable.

I am truly humbled and overwhelmed at how blessed I am to have them. They have loved and supported me unconditionally when I felt lost and unlovable. They are the greatest earthly treasures that I have, and I am so blessed as a husband and a father to be surrounded by them daily. I thank God for them every day and know that my life and this story would be nothing without them. I have always and will always love them!
OUR FAM
God has saved me so many times in so many different ways. The birth of the twins caused me to evaluate my life and forced me to make wholesale changes in every facet of it, especially in my faith.
I love their smiles and their spirits. I love the joy and the laughter they bring to everyone they are around. They saved me and they never even knew it. I pray that this book and my story will someday help them when they feel flawed or broken or a failure. When that day comes, I will be there to remind them of not only my love for them, but their Heavenly Father’s love for them. I love them with every fiber of my being and will always be their Daddy!
MY LOVE
At many times in my life, my wife, Michelle, was my only lifeline out of situations that seemed and were too big for me to get out of on my own. She has loved and supported me through many hard times and watched as I stumbled and made a mess of my life and then helped me pick up the pieces.
MORE PURPOSEFUL
Because of our past, we share more than just an earthly bond; our souls are bonded forever. She is the love of my life and I cannot imagine having anyone else by my side as I tackle the next chapter of my life. She is my earthly rock and her strength and compassion as a wife and mother are unmatched. I love her eternally!
